it's a radar u can see the wild pokemons that u can see in the specific place,but it only shows u the poke that u already caught/have,hope i help

displays all the pokemon that -can- spawn naturally in the tile you're currently in, provided you've owned them previously. Only pokemon registered as caught in your pokedex will be shown; any poke you do not have dexed will display as question marks.
it does not tell you what poke are currently present in the area, but the full list of possible spawns.
