I think that you should also be able to use Arrow Keys and WASD to move because some people might be used to it. Other people also might not even bother to read the instructions and try their own style of moving.

BEFORE AFTER Look at the images. Before is before I spectate the Guild battles. After is when I leave and a weird thing happens. It makes it harder to return my Pokemon when battling.

I think you should be able to get your Pokemon out of a Guild gym because you might put the Pokemon in by accident like I did once.
